The STRING Association organizes and conducts STEM workshops aimed at popularizing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics among young people. Our workshops are designed to give children and youth the opportunity to explore, learn, and create through hands-on projects and teamwork. The workshops cover a variety of topics, including robotics, programming, electronics, and 3D modeling. Our educators, experts in various STEM fields, use interactive teaching methods to help participants better understand the theory and apply it in practice.
The topics we cover span a wide range of areas within STEM. Students have the opportunity to learn the basics of robotics, where they are taught how to design, program, and assemble robots using popular tools like LEGO Mindstorms or Arduino kits. Through various projects, they learn how simple robots are created and how they can solve real-world challenges. The workshops also include learning programming, from visual languages like Scratch to more advanced languages such as Python and C++. This way, children acquire basic and advanced coding skills, enabling them to develop their own applications and software solutions. One of the more exciting aspects is 3D modeling, where participants learn the process of designing objects using specialized software, and then print those objects using a 3D printer, giving them a tangible, hands-on creation experience. The workshops also cover the basics of electronics, where participants learn how to create simple electronic circuits and explore the possibilities of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, allowing them to connect devices and create interactive systems. Additionally, participants dive into the world of mobile applications, where they gain knowledge of designing and programming apps that they can use on their smart devices through simple yet creative projects.
These workshops provide children with the opportunity to develop new technical skills, while also encouraging creative thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork, preparing them for the challenges of the future.
